LES STONE

Conflicted emotions: The 25th anniversary of the fall of Saigon was somberly commemorated on April 30 in the United States as hundreds trekked through Constitution Gardens on Washington's National Mall to cry, hug or pray at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. In Vietnam, of course, the occasion was celebrated in opposite fashion. There were speeches and parades in the city that was Saigon and is now named after Ho Chi Minh, who was North Vietnam's leader back then and is a legend today.
