Completed in 1949, the beauty and simplicity of the house — built with floor-to-ceiling glass walls at a time when not even many office buildings had adopted the glass box look — quickly made it one of the most talked about houses since Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater, completed 12 years earlier.
