J.M.W. Turner — The Sunshine Boy

In 1792, just 17 years old and already a skilled draughtsman, Turner journeyed through the Wye Valley, birthplace of the "picturesque." There he saw Tintern Abbey, the ruined Gothic church that would later find its way into the title of one of Wordsworths' most famous poems.
