At one of Baghdad's oldest teahouses, al-Beiruti, men play cards on a balcony overlooking the Tigris River. Situated in the heart of the city, al-Beiruti closed for two years when sectarian violence engulfed the area in 2006 and 2007. In January 2008, it started welcoming customers back.
