Baker had less than five minutes with the Georgian leader. "I was very surprised by him," says Baker. "Here's this guy, a very young guy, who had just fought a war with the Russians, virtually starting an international crisis, and yet he was big and goofy, and kind of awkward in his own skin. Still, there was something defiant about him, we had this language barrier, but still he ended up with a defiant stance."
