For the first few decades, the Cold War was a central theme in the James Bond universe although most Bond films would give viewers only a brief glimpse of the Soviets' home country. But in 1995's Goldeneye, Bond took the fight right into the heart of Russia, commandeering a tank and rumbling through the streets of St. Petersburg.
