Tanks for the Memories
Every summer, hundreds of people from all over the world gather in a field in southern England and re-create — in as much detail as possible — soldiers, sailors and other figures from the First and Second World Wars. The re-enactments include elaborate battle scenes, where the equipment includes items like this M24 light battle tank. This photo was taken in the moments after the battle, as re-enactors dressed as Allied troops caught a ride back after defeating the Germans at the War and Peace show in the south of England. Up to 5,000 military vehicles were displayed at the show.
