Peru's Sacred Glacier Is Melting
For centuries, pilgrims have come to the Sinakara Valley high in the Andes to perform sacred rituals at the base of the Qolqepunku Glacier. The rituals date back to the time of the Incas, who regarded the mountain as a god and its glacier as a source of holy water.
