Bernard Madoff
Accused of: securities fraud, money laundering, perjury
Said to have engineered the biggest investment fraud in Wall Street history, Madoff admitted to turning his wealth-management business into a massive Ponzi scheme that defrauded thousands of investors of at least $50 billion. In March, the former Wall Street legend pleaded guilty to all the federal charges filed against him and was sentenced to the maximum term, 150 years in jail.
