Born in Paris, Bourgeois immigrated to New York in 1938 with her husband art historian Robert Goldwater. Best known for her sculpted spiders and cells, a retrospective of her work was exhibited at the Tate Modern museum in London, above. The show later traveled to Paris, New York, Los Angeles and Washington, DC.
