Bolivia's Tinku: Ritual Fighting Turns Deadly
Each May, up to 3000 thousand indigenous Bolivian indians descend on the isolated mountainous village of Macha, 75 miles north of Potosi, in the Bolivian Andes to engage in Tinku, a ritualized conflict that pits villagers against each other in hand-to-hand combat.
