The Second Day: Struggle
"Obama uses his hands a lot. He's incredibly expressive with them. Everyone photographs his face but I was drawn to his gestures. This image was inspired by a rally at the New Hampshire Technical Institute in Concord on Sept. 12. It was pouring with rain, and this period of time was a tough time for his campaign. I wanted to make a piece of work that reflected that struggle but also the struggle that had gone before, to get to that point."
