The same day, South Korean soldiers from an armored division take part in an annual river-crossing exercise against a possible attack from North Korea on the Han River in Yeoju, about 62 miles southeast of Seoul. South Korea scrambled F-16 fighter jets and returned fire after North Korea attacked Yeonpyeong.
