Lampedusa Flooded by Tunisian Migrants

After it became clear that the Jasmine Revolution would lead to a change in governments in Tunisia, thousands of Tunisians fled their country. In less than a week, more than 4,000 illegal immigrants arrived on the shores of Lampedusa, a small Italian island between Sicily and Tunisia.
