Cartier Halo Tiara (Britain)
Queen Elizabeth loaned Kate her Cartier 'halo' tiara for her long walk down the aisle. The dazzling piece of headgear was commissioned in 1936 by the Duke of York (who would later become King George VI) for his wife Elizabeth — the Queen Mum. In 1946, she passed the crown on to her daughter for her 18th birthday.
