Goodnight Moon
As Earth cast its shadow over the moon, the longest lunar eclipse in over a decade was witnessed in parts of Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia. Ash in the atmosphere from a Chilean volcano turned the satellite's surface blood red for some viewers. Here, the full moon is seen from Manila before dawn on Thursday, June 16, 2011.
