The Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art
The new museum features American art from the colonial era to the present. Based on the collection of Alice Walton, the daughter of Walmart founder Sam Walton and one of the richest women in America, it's located in Bentonville, Ark., Walmart's origin spot. Designed by the architect Moshe Safdie, it consists of a series of interconnected pavilions circling a man made pond and crossed by a pair of glass walled "bridges", one of which is visible in this picture.
