Decorated Parks
The statues were erected by Mayawati, Uttar Pradesh's Chief Minister. During her five years in office, she constructed several major public parks that featured the sculptures of the elephant symbol of her Bahujan Samaj Party as well as statues of herself and historical figures. In this photo, a fountain at the Ambedkar Park in Noida, near New Delhi, decorated with statues of elephants is fully covered on Jan. 11, 2012.
