Legalize Medical Marijuana Use - Michigan

A recent poll showed supporters of this proposal outnumbering opponents 2 to 1. The measure would allow patients with qualifying medical conditions and a doctor's prescription to escape prosecution for possessing and using the drug. If made into law, it would be similar to a law in California that allows cultivation of marijuana for medical purposes. Marijuana possession remains illegal under federal law, however, and DEA officers routinely raid marijuana dispensaries in California — which would likely happen in Michigan as well. More than 10 other states have also legalized medical marijuana use.
