Legalize Medical Marijuana Use - Michigan

A recent poll showed supporters of this proposal outnumbering opponents 2 to 1. The measure would allow patients with qualifying medical conditions and a doctor's prescription to escape prosecution for possessing and using the drug. If made into law, it would be similar to a law in California that allows cultivation of marijuana for medical purposes. Marijuana possession remains illegal under federal law, however, and DEA officers routinely raid marijuana dispensaries in California which would likely happen in Michigan as well. More than 10 other states have also legalized medical marijuana use.
