MOURNING A MONARCH
Mourners cry as hundreds of thousands of Nepalis thronged the streets of Katmandu, Nepal for the funeral procession of Nepal's King Birendra, Queen Aiswaya, Princess Shruti, and Prince Nirajan. The four were killed by Crown Prince Dipendra, who was upset that the Queen did not accept his choice of bride. Prince Dipendra later turned the gun on himself. Photographed June 2, 2001.
