HUNG HORSE A mystery bidder paid more than $846,775 for this contemporary art work of a stuffed horse by Italian artist Maurizio Cattelan when it went under the hammer at Christie's in north London. It was a record price for a work by Cattelan. The taxidermied horse, titled 'La ballata di Trotsky' (The Ballad of Trotsky), hung from the ceiling of the exhibition space had been expected to fetch up to $564,517. Wednesday, June 27, 2001. |  |
