ANOTHER ROSE IN THE WALL:
A rose hangs in a preseved section of the Berlin Wall at the main memorial to the wall in Berlin, Germany, on the fourtieth anniversary of its construction. Built by the then-communist government of East Germany, the wall surrounded West Berlin and prevented East Germans from seeking refuge there. Some 200 East Germans died trying to cross into West Berlin over the years. Monday, August 13, 2001.
