Today, fame and celebrity - and sometimes, notoriety - are only a few clicks away. Now that video sharing Web site YouTube has become a household name, you might not make it to the silver screen, but almost anyone can make it to the computer screen.

Urban Ninja isn't just one of the top ten videos on YouTube anymore. It's inspired people to become ninjas themselves and created a legion of dedicated fans. It's no Numa Numa but that's what makes it so appealing.

My favorites are the "Odd Animals" movies, that are available at www.youtube.com/oddanimals, and my favorites would have to be either # 3: "Punk" or # 6: "When Tickets To A Concert Fall From The Sky, Just Thank God And Take Them". They're great!

New Orleans: The day the music died. I have it running on another screen right now, and I'm crying. The fact this was posted on my birthday just makes it worse. I was born and grew up mostly in Greater New Orleans. Orleans parish is dying a slow and painful death. 15 months later the Lower 9th ward still doesn't have electricity, and the rest of the nation seems to believe that all of New Orleans is just the lower 9th ward, the French Quarter, and Sliver by the River. Even local TV reporters and Orleans parish residents continually get Jefferson parish geography wrong. There never has been a "Causeway - Clearview intersection". When I pointed that out to the producer of "Refuge of Last Resort", James A. Bills, a documetary that no USA news channel was willing to pick up or air, he was surprised. Why is the best documetary on Katrina and its effects on New Orleans produced by the BBC? Wake up, media. Why do people in New Orleans ask Anderson Cooper of CNN if New Orleans has been forgotten? I can't be the only native or neo-native that is still very much a Katrina victim and in psychic pain 15 months later, even though my Metairie property just has a natural gas leak, still unrepaired. Prosecute the Thompsons for selling the house the Memphis church gave them. Rant over.

It was hard to pick one of my favorites but this one of Tai Shan at the NZ doing somersaults has to be at the top. The pure joy and childhood innocence of something so simple as a somersault. Maybe if we all took a few minutes to look away from hate and differences and do a few somersaults we would have some peace.

Check out BUSTED: The Citizen's Guide to Surviving Police Encounters. It's huge on Youtube, Google Video, and Myspace. The film teaches how to deal with police. It deserves recognition because it's different from most other viral content.

I, like John V., like Gorillazbuffalo's Youtube work. But more than Odd Animals, I like Robots That Rap." This is a hilarious video in which a robot is rapping in a computer voice. I like this more than Odd Animals because this really has a more "viral-video" feel to it, and is probably funnier than Odd Animals. I mean, it just clicks somewhere in the recesses of my brain... I think it's really clever.
