Will We Control the Weather?
In a sense, we already do and the results have not been good. The
billions
of tons of emissions pumped out each year have caused the world to begin
heating up, leading to predictions that overall temperatures will rise between
2 and 7 degrees Fahrenheit before the end of the century. Such increases will
have potentially catastrophic consequences, from ever more severe
hurricanes to
droughts and torrential rain. Which all makes those '50s predictions of
storm-fighting aircraft a little quaint.
