Will AOL Own Everything?
There's a risk that it will, according to an article for TIME by Harvard Law Professor Lawrence Lessig. The danger comes from the Internet's increasing reliance on cable rather than phone lines to carry information — and AOL's purchase of Time Warner (owner of this site) gives it access to a huge cable system. AOL says it remains committed to "open access"; some are worried that it may be tempted into monopoly.
