Chevrolet Volt
Ever since the Model T replaced the horse and buggy, companies have tried to come up with the next big thing. GM's new electric concept car, the Chevrolet Volt, above, could be it. The car can travel 40 miles on its battery alone. If you're on the road and can't plug in, the engine recharges the battery, giving the driver 600 miles more. GM hopes to have this dream machine, which could help eliminate our dependence on oil, ready to roll within three years.
