A lot of artists have covered Bob Dylan from Eddy Arnold to Axl Rose but Bryan Ferry may be the unlikeliest. Dylan's style is an absence of style; Ferry puts on hair gel and a tux to sing in the shower. But he really can sing; the way he caresses Knockin' on Heaven's Door brings out the sweetness in a way Dylan never could. And when Ferry's world-weariness kicks in (for the hungry women on Rue Morgue Avenue), it's both stylish and genuinely Dylanesque.
