Like all Radiohead albums, In Rainbows demands several listens before it fully reveals itself. But when the riffs and counterriffs cohere, the payoff is more than just the usual pockets of prettiness. There's real emotional depth on tracks like Nude and Videotape, with sweetness and romance replacing the band's usual neuroses. If not Radiohead's best, it's certainly in the conversation.
