In real life, one is often discouraged from breaking things. Boom Blox actively rewards you for it. Overseen by Steven Spielberg — it has some of his sprightly energy — the game challenges you to demolish towers of gemlike blocks (which sometimes vanish or explode on contact) as efficiently as possible while small cartoon animals cheer you on.

Grade: B+
