Steve Carell probably won't take Malaysia by storm with Evan Almighty, a comic retelling of the story of Noah's Ark. Muslim groups argue that the God of Islam isn't allowed to be depicted in any form (much less through Morgan Freeman's all-too-human turn as God in casual cream sweaters and sneakers). The movie will still open in Malaysia on Aug. 23, but a religious boycott isn't the only problem. The flm has been slipping in the U.S., presumably more for secular reasons, like middling reviews.
