"We've wasted a lot of our most precious treasure [in Iraq], which is American lives, over there."
McCain during an appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman in which he announced his bid for the White House. The following day, McCain told reporters he should have used the word "sacrificed" instead of "wasted."
