"McClellan did not say definitively that the surge principles would not work in Afghanistan."
Palin, during the vice presidential debate, referring to the U.S. Commander in Afghanistan as "General McClellan," when his name is actually General David McKiernan. She repeated the mistake several times during the debate without being corrected, and also misstated his position on how to turn the tide in the strife-torn country. In a post-debate interview with Fox News she expressed regret for the slip up.
