"There was an energy bill on the floor of the Senate loaded down with goodies, billions for the oil companies, and it was sponsored by Bush and Cheney. You know who voted for it? You might never know. That one. You know who voted against it? Me."
McCain, pointing at Obama and referring to him as "that one" during the second presidential debate in Nashville, Tennessee when discussing a 2005 Senate vote on an energy bill. Obama camp manager David Plouffe said post-debate he thought the remark reflected McCain's "anger" with the state of the race. McCain adviser Charlie Black later said he didn't believe McCain meant any disrespect.
