Yet the Smock sofa (from $6,352) remains completely functional, even practical (a full-length zipper makes for easy removal of the cover should it get dirty or need to be changed). But that should come as no surprise, since functionality is a signature of Spanish designer Patricia Urquiola. One of the biggest names in design today, Urquiola rolls out designs for many of the industry's heavy hitters: Kartell, B&B Italia, Alessi and Moroso, the manufacturer of the Smock sofa.
