Down the tunnel, growing large, was the light of an oncoming subway. On the platform, Cameron Hollopeter, 19, suffered a seizure and tumbled onto the tracks. Other passengers gaped, Autry acted, leaping into the path of the train to pin the young man between the rails. Brakes screeching, the train passed inches over Autry's head. The subway Samaritan emerged dirty, bruised—and a genuine hero.
