The Best and Worst Super Bowl Ads
As seems to be the case just about every year, it was the Super Bowl ads that kept audiences glued to television screens. TIME's Jim Poniewozik was one of those who carefully watched and evaluated every ad of the evening. Here's his take on the best of the best from this year's Super Bowl of advertising
Pandas make ethnic stereotypes so cuuuuuuute!!! A panda with a Mickey Rooney-inspired Chinese accent gets 100 free sales leads for his bamboo furniture business. This, and the earlier Indian-salesman ad, were made in what the company says was a deliberate attempt to create the worst ads of Super Bowl 2008. Folks are good at what they do. (On the other hand, Panda Psychic deserves her own TV show.)
