The Best and Worst Super Bowl Ads

As seems to be the case just about every year, it was the Super Bowl ads that kept audiences glued to television screens. TIME's Jim Poniewozik was one of those who carefully watched and evaluated every ad of the evening. Here's his take on the best of the best from this year's Super Bowl of advertising

Carl Edwards says non-drowsy Claritin will leave you alert enough to drive a NASCAR race. In perhaps the greatest advertising coup of all time, Edwards jumpsuit contains logos for Coca-Cola, Aflac, Office Depot, Ritz Crackers and Dish Network, among others. Did they pay a dime for this? If not, I now know who really won the Super Bowl.
