It's one of the worst cold and flu seasons in American history, says Ryan Seacrest in his intro, and the bug has devastated the Idol cast. Way to raise those expectations! Sadly, not even a pandemic can prepare us for Kristy Lee. She showed a pleasant enough little voice and Shania Twain-ish country charm in her auditions, but picking a song popularized by Aretha Franklin is a big mistake. All the judges can focus on is her lack of vocal power—that and the dozens of notes she misses.
