Jason Castro

If I Fell
Jason's reedy voice is perfectly suited to this tender ballad, and it's a sweetly emotional vocal. He's undercut this week, though, by what had been his strength, bringing his guitar with him. Where the Beatles original had delicate fingerpicking, he strums along instead, giving it an incongruous bounciness that, weirdly, has the audience clapping along. Nicely sung, but he would have been better off letting Ricky Minor and the pros play along this week.
