David Cook

I Don't Want to Miss a Thing
You didn't think American Idol's producers were going to let us go the night without a Dianne Warren power ballad, did you? (The songwriter was even in the audience to collect her rightful tribute.) David C. makes the most of a song that's almost as overdone on Idol as Fever. But you'd think that the producers, who are paid to do nothing but think about Idol, could be a little more creative than to go the standard rock guy = Aerosmith ballad route, which has nothing to do with David C.'s strengths. They do watch their own show, right?
