American Idol
It is David versus David in this season's final showdown
The World I Know
I never bought into the paranoid theory that David Cook seeing Chris Daughtry as a model didn't really want to win Idol. Until now. This mid-tempo Collective Soul song is just a baffling choice: I'm sure it really means something to him, but there's no real drama to it, no wow moments, and it may have been widely heard in the mid-'90s, but it's not widely remembered. If Cook was trying to throw the contest, I say mission accomplished, sir. (And if he was trying to win, nice little dig at the competition: "I figured, why do something that I've already done?")
