2008 American International Toy Fair
The 105th annual American International Toy Fair brought thousands of toy makers, industry players — and fun-loving gawkers — to New York City this week. From an eerily life-like new Elmo to digital cameras for dogs, here's a look at some of the most notable toys, games, and gadgets of 2008.

Scout, Lola, and Waverly are a cloud, flower and water drop, respectively, and they're the debut Idbids, plush toys made of organically grown cotton that come with storybooks printed on recycled paper, all wrapped in eco-friendly packaging. Their mission is to teach kids that "iddy biddy steps" — like turning off the water while you brush your teeth and using both sides of the paper when you color — can make the Earth a greener place. Environmentally aware kids can earn a "green certificate," accessible online.
