Mark Halperin:

Given his naturally eccentric style, this is a reasonably conventional tux. At the same time, the piping along the lapel and the bow tie at a jaunty angle work with his bohemian vibe. Well-fitting jacket, particularly across the shoulders. Wolfishly handsome as always and working the shaggy hair.

Joe Klein:

Phew. Really expected him to come as the wild man of Borneo with a frills and a bandanna and enormous earrings or something. But very conservative—a statement!—shawl collar and little black bowtie. I don't like shawl collars. They remind me of bar mitzvahs. But this is, as I say, a statement!
