AGE: 59
OCCUPATION: Green investor, global-warming standard-bearer
NUMBER OF TIME COVERS: 2 solo, 8 shared, 1 Time 100
PREVIOUS APPEARANCES ON THE TIME 100: 2

PRO: Following a banner 2006 in which he won an Oscar, the Dem martyr continued his post-VP influence by prepping his company, Current TV, for a possible IPO, organizing a Live Aid concert, and becoming the go-to guy for solving party conflicts. Winning a Nobel Peace Prize also looks nice on the rez.

CON: An inconvenient truth: in neither endorsing a candidate nor helping negotiate a compromise, Gore may be letting his party implode.
