PRO: If there's any hope for movement on the nearly derailed Israeli-Palestinian peace process, it lies with Livni and her discreet talks with Palestinian Prime Minister Ahmed Qurie.

CON: No progress has been reported, on or off the record. And her own political superiors in the Kadima Party may want Livni to fail: after Prime Minister Ehud Olmert was disgraced by scandal, she offered herself as a replacement. When he failed to step down, she had egg on her face.
