PRO: Called the "Mother Teresa of Baghdad," Hassan, a secular Shi'ite, has devoted herself to tending to the displaced, especially in her home Karada district. Receiving no help from the Iraqi government, she provides something all-too-rare in Baghdad: organization.

CON: Like almost everyone who openly helps innocent Iraqis, Hassan has become a target of extremists.
