ClimateEthics
Science tells us how we are searing the planet. Economics tells us how much it will cost to do something or nothing about it. Neither science nor economics tells us right from wrong. That is the domain of ethics and the Rock Ethics Institute's ClimateEthics website. ClimateEthics is both sober and sobering, a mature, dispassionate look at how global warming changes the meaning of personal and aggregate right and wrong. In this realm, answers are sometimes hard to hear, and even more difficult to implement. But if we don't try, we risk leaping from WWII's Greatest Generation to the worst one.
Sample ClimateEthics post: A failure to increase research into alternative energy sources is unethical, in that it not only favors the current status quo in relation to energy infrastructure, and among other reasons, it increases the burden of costs for future generations in the both the clean-up of higher levels of atmospheric carbon as well as the inevitable costs to further innovate.
