The previous year, even the aftermath of 9/11 didn't put a damper on the laughs. This year, however, the Iraq war did. No comedian, just the great soul singer, along with guests like Henry Kissinger and U.N. weapons inspector Hans Blix. The black humor becomes apparent only later.
