The Luxury Index 2007
The people, places and products that are now influencing the luxury business and inspiring savvy consumers around the world
Rick Owens
Fashion designer Rick Owens, who received a National Design Award this year, brings the same sculptural sensibility he creates in his clothes to his new line of furniture. The native Californian, now based in Paris, presented his collection of chairs (right) and benches at Paris' Jousse Entreprise gallery this fall. He compares his work to Brancusi's but uses far more eclectic materials, including plywood, mink and fox fur.
